Mitch Moffitt is a popular science communicator and influencer best known as the co-creator and voice of AsapSCIENCE, a YouTube channel with an incredible 10.3 million subscribers. Since its launch in May 2012, the channel’s content has been viewed over 1.7 billion times. Among its most popular videos to date have been ones that solved viral questions such as ‘What Colour is This Dress?’ and ‘Do You Hear Yanny or Laurel?’ with science. Other videos consider age-old conundrums such as ‘What came first? The chicken or the egg?’, whilst other take a frank, but entertaining, scientific look at aspects of the human anatomy (for example, ‘Does size matter?’). The channel’s Instagram account adds another 605,000 followers to its enormous audience.
Away from his amazingly popular YouTube channel, Moffitt is also a popular solo presence on social media, having over 94,000 followers across Instagram and Twitter. He is also a keen musician and has released one album on Soundcloud, entitled 01 Album, which has been streamed tens of thousands of times. For the most part, however, it’s his YouTube channel that continues to make his name, delighting and educating viewers all over the world.
