Alex Fiva is a freestyle skier from Switzerland. He began his career as a junior alpine skier who saw considerable success. He won the Swiss Junior Slalom Bronze medal in 2006; nevertheless, he gave up alpine skiing in 2007. He turned to freestyle ski cross and debuted on the World Cup in Meiringen, Germany, in March 2008, finishing in 29th position. He didn’t begin to realise his potential until early 2010, when he won back-to-back Europa Cup races. His best finish was a 12th-place finish in Grindelwald, which helped him win a spot in the Swiss World Cup team for the end of the season.
Fiva made another advancement at the beginning of the 2010–2011 season. He finished second in the second World Cup competition of the season in Innichen after starting the previous day in 35th place. He then achieved two more top 5 finishes after this. At 2011, in the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships in Deer Valley Resort, he was picked to represent Switzerland. He could only finish in 25th. He suffered an injury during the following World Cup match that kept him out for the remainder of the year.
Fiva’s real breakthrough was in the 2011–2012 campaign. He placed third in Innichen’s second World Cup competition of the year to finish on the podium once more. In the night race in St. Johann in Tirol, he won his first World Cup title. The following week, in Les Contamines, he claimed his second title.
