Alex Gonzaga, born Catherine Cruz Gonzaga-Morada on January 16, 1988, is a versatile Filipino media personality, host, comedian, actress, businesswoman, and singer. Known for her vibrant energy and comedic flair, Gonzaga began her career on ABS-CBN, where she starred in the sitcom “Let’s Go!” playing the role of Alex, a name that has since become her moniker. Her early work included roles in popular dramas such as “Pangarap na Bituin,” “Your Song,” and “My Girl.”
In 2008, Gonzaga transitioned to TV5, gaining widespread recognition as a host on the talk show “Juicy!” and leading the soap opera “Babaeng Hampaslupa.” Her versatility shone through various roles in series like “BFGF,” “P.S. I Love You,” and “Enchanted Garden.” Returning to ABS-CBN in 2013, she co-hosted the Philippine version of “The Voice” and “Big Brother: All In,” showcased her comedic talents on “Banana Split,” and appeared in the drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”
A successful author, Gonzaga released her novel “Dear Alex, Break na Kami. Paano? Love, Catherine” in 2014, which was well-received for its humorous take on breakups. Beyond her entertainment career, Gonzaga’s personal life garnered attention when she began dating Lipa City councilor Michael “Mikee” Morada in 2016. The couple announced their engagement in January 2020 and revealed in 2021 that they had been married in a private ceremony at the Gonzaga residence in Taytay since November 2020.
Following the shutdown of ABS-CBN, Gonzaga returned to TV5, co-hosting the noontime variety show “Lunch Out Loud” from its premiere in 2020 until 2023. Her dynamic presence and multi-faceted talents continue to endear her to fans across the Philippines.
