Rising Broadway star DeMarius R. Copes is bringing a fresh voice to the stage. Young in his career, Copes has already filled some of the world’s most famous character’s shoes to critical acclaim. Best known for his role in the original Broadway smash hit ‘Mean Girls,’ Copes is on a meteoric trajectory to being a future leading man. Copes didn’t always know that he was destined for Broadway. At 15 years old, Copes started training as a dancer. As the Broadway door started knocking, Copes got the chance to be a part of the original touring cast of Disney’s ‘Newsies.’ The rest is history. Nineteen months later Copes starred in his Broadway debut and audiences have been revelling in his performances ever since.
Perfecting his craft, Copes has starred in a variety of roles to date. Appearing in ‘The Prom’ at the Alliance Theatre, ‘Stilyagi’ as part of the ‘PowerHouse Theatre Season and in ‘A Chorus Line’ at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Copes is continually growing as an artist. His other theatre credits include ‘Les Miserables,’ ‘42nd Street’ and ‘Hairspray’ at the Red Mountain Theatre. Landing a role in the Broadway masterpiece ‘Hamilton,’ Copes is part of the 2nd National Tour. Playing at nearly forty venues across the USA, Copes is performing to his biggest audience yet.
