British actor Miltos Yerolemou is best known for playing Syrio Forel in the iconic HBO fantasy television series Game of Thrones. He is also widely recognised for his appearances in films such as The Danish Girl and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Born in London, Yerolemou’s acting talents allowed him to dive straight into professional performance without any formal training, and for six years he was a regular on BBC1’s children’s television show Hububb. During that time he also appeared in Middleton’s Changeling, a film adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale, and as the titular role in the documentary Neanderthal. He then went on to play roles in hit British series My Family and Absolutely Fabulous, as well as Black Books, The West Wittering Affair, and short film The Public Benefits.
Yerolemou was cast in Game of Thrones in 2011, in which he primarily worked with actress Maisie Williams. He has since appeared in the BBC’s adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall, Anthony Horowitz’s BBC1 series New Blood, and British-American film Tulip Fever alongside Judi Dench, Tom Hollander and Alicia Vikander. In 2019, he starred in the cult Netflix series The Crown.
Yerolemou has enjoyed a fruitful stage career, appearing onstage multiple times with the Royal Shakespeare Company. More recently he played The Fool in the Royal Exchange Manchester and Talawa Theatre Company co-production of King Lear, which earned him rave reviews.
