Genevieve Buechner is a Canadian television actress known for her roles in science fiction shows like The 100 and Caprica.
After completing a drama course when she was at school, Buechner discovered a love of acting and decided to join the Vancouver Youth Theatre’s tour. She was instantly spotted and signed to Carrier Talent Management, starring as the lead role in 2002 film Saint Monica when she was just 10 years old. The film won multiple awards and was screened at film festivals across Europe and Canada. Over the next few years she appeared in more films such as Bob the Butler, and Mount Pleasant before landing a role in sci-fi television drama Caprica. She had a recurring role in the show, starring in six episodes over the course of a year. Buechner has appeared in numerous TV movies including Girl Fight, Heavenly, and One Foot in Hell, with her next major role coming in 2014 when she landed a part in another sci-fi drama The 100. She stayed with the show for two years, starring in 12 episodes and quickly landing another big part in UnREAL, a drama series which aired on Lifetime. She had a recurring role in the first two series, and joined the main cast for series 3 and 4.
Most recently, Buechner has appeared in an episode of The X Files and continues to be cast in parts for film and television. She still has many years of acting ahead of her, and is one of Canada’s brightest young talents.
