Former football coach turned actor Scot Ruggles is known for his roles in Headshots & Handcuffs, SWAT and Sunny Daze.
Growing up, Ruggles used to watch his dad coach teams every weekend at football and ice hockey games. He developed a love of football and went on to train as a football coach too, coaching top teams at both a professional and major college level. It was while coaching that he was asked to star in a commercial to promote the work of the local hospital which his team was partnered with. From there, he discovered a love of acting and began to be called to castings. After a few years of landing small parts in series such as Murder by the Book and Days of Our Lives, Ruggles started to win bigger roles such as in Headshots & Handcuffs, The Phoenix Incident and SWAT. More roles quickly followed for the budding actor, in television series such as NOS4A2 and Deputy before landing the role of Rick Wilson in All American at the end of 2019. The sports drama series has proved hugely popular, and has just been renewed for a third season with Ruggles due to star in the upcoming production.
With a varied background in the world of professional football, Ruggles is proof that its never too late to make a career change. The actor is now a regular at castings for both the big and small screen and looks set for a long and successful career.
