Ivan Sergei is an American actor best known for his performances as Dr. Pete Winslow in NBC’s Crossing Jordan and Matt Mateo in The Opposite of Sex.
New Jersey native Sergei got his start in the ‘90s, with early credits including Touched by an Angel, Bionic Breakdown, Cybill, Dangerous Minds, Star Command and Mother, May I Sleep with Danger? He soon landed his big break when he was cast in John Woo’s Once a Thief, starring as Mac Ramsey. It is a role he reprised several times, including in two subsequent movies, Once a Thief: Brother Against Brother and Once a Thief: Family Business, and in the short-lived television series of the same name.
Sergei went on to star in several cult classic television shows and movies. His movie credits include roles as Matt Mateo in Golden Globe-nominated The Opposite of Sex, in which he played alongside Lisa Kudrow and Christina Ricci, John in The Big Day, Eddie in Playing Mona Lisa, Mark in Scorched, Carson Wigham in The Break-Up, Jack Gates in Fatal Instinct, Tim in Lessons in Love, and Bobby in Lafayette.
On television, Sergei played David ‘Jill’ Jillefsky in Jack & Jill, David Weiss in My Adventures in Television, Dr. Peter Winslow in Crossing Jordan, Danny Edwards in Hawaii, Henry Mitchell in Charmed, Greg Donner in CSI: Miami, Collin Richards in Army Wives, Robert in Gravity, Gabe Mancini in The Mentalist, Sergei Damanov in Body of Proof, and Jack Taylor in Twisted. His most recent roles include Cole Whitfield in Castle, Roy Milligan in Granite Flats, and Nate in BH90210.
With several movies currently pending release, including Magic Max, in which Sergei plays the titular role of Max Hart, Sergei’s career is going from strength to strength.
