Grandson of all-time-great Errol Flynn and namesake nephew of the iconic photojournalist who went missing in Vietnam, Sean Flynn is undoubtedly an actor of pedigree. His most famous role to date has been playing Chase Matthews, the male lead in Zoey 101, a Nickelodeon comedy-drama that won awards, became one of the most popular teen shows of the noughties, and more than justified its position as the most expensive show the channel had ever made. Flynn in appeared in over 50 episodes and was the joint recipient of two Young Artists Awards for Best Young Ensemble Performance.
Born in 1989, Flynn has been acting since he was a young child. His first television appearance came when he was seven years old, in an episode of Fox sci-fi series Sliders. A range of roles followed, including a voice cameo in Family Guy, before he was cast in Zoey 101 in 2005. He was with the show for three years as it topped ratings charts and established its young cast as part of a new generation of acting stars. Even in 2013, five years after the show’s final series, it won the Neox Fan Award for Best Series.
In the years since, Flynn has taken on a variety of roles. As well as reprising the role of Chase Matthews for a TV short called What Did Zoey Say?, he has appeared in TV movies such as The Golden Star and short films such as 2019’s The Unicorn Sisters, which performed incredibly well at film festivals around the world.
