Ron Duguay is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and coach who has played an astonishing 12 seasons in the National Hockey League, as well as four seasons as a minor league coach. Duguay entered the National Hockey League phenomenally quickly, with 20 goals in his rookie year, and was known for his flashy personality as well as hockey skill.
Duguay played for the New York Rangers at the start of his career, setting a team record for the fastest goal at the start of a game at only 9 seconds. As well as this, the sportsman was involved with meshing the Rangers with the disco-era in New York City, and sung on Hockey Sock Rock, written by Alan Thicke, which was a huge hit. Duguay would go on to play for the Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Los Angeles Kings, with the Red Wings seeing Duguay achieve his biggest ever offensive season of his career.
Duguay went on from hockey to work as an in-studio analyst during MSG Network’s coverage of the New York Rangers for 11 years, as well as raising money for charities such as the Garden of Dreams Foundation and World Vision Canada. Duguay is also a two time Emmy Award Winner for his broadcasting work.
