Linda Gray is an acting legend. Fans know her best as Sue Ellen in the incredible soap opera Dallas, or as Mrs Robinson’s legs in the iconic movie poster for The Graduate but she is also a former United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, owns her own production company called LG Productions Inc, and is a best-selling author with her memoir titled The Road To Happiness Is Always Under Construction published in 2015.
Kicking off her five decade long career in the seventies, Gray started off with guest roles on Marcus Welby, M.D, Switch, McCloud, and even the hit comedy series All The Glitters, but her crowning moment came when she first appeared as Sue Ellen in the internationally recognised hit television phenomenon that was Dallas, the role that threw her firmly into the spotlight, and she hasn’t stopped since. In recognition of her performance on Dallas, Gray was nominated for an Emmy Award For Lead Actress In A Drama Series, was given two Golden Globe Awards For Best Actress, and achieved not only a Bambi Award- the German equivalent to a US Academy Award, but also won an Italian Il Gato For Best Actress On Television. If this wasn’t enough, in 1983 she was also voted Woman Of The Year by the Hollywood And Radio Television Society.
Outside of Dallas, Gray has starred in a variety of other projects, including Hallmark’s TV film Perfect Match, which received incredible ratings, comedy flick Oscar opposite fellow Hollywood giant Sylvester Stallone, and Reflections Of A Life, released in 2006. She has also expanded into the theatre and returned to play the rest of Mrs Robinson in the London West End production of The Graduate in 2001, following the show to Broadway, then on a tour around the US.
