Dayo Olatunji, known professionally as Dyo, is an accomplished English singer-songwriter whose career has been marked by significant contributions to the music industry. Growing up in East Ham, East London, Dyo began her musical journey at the tender age of four, participating in talent shows and school performances by the age of ten. Under her former stage name, Ms D, she gained recognition as a featured artist and co-writer for rapper Wiley’s hit singles from his 2013 album, The Ascent, including the UK Chart #1 single “Heatwave.” Her early collaborations also included notable tracks like Chipmunk’s “Oopsy Daisy” and Iggy Azalea’s “Bounce,” showcasing her versatility and talent as a songwriter and vocalist.
In June 2016, Dyo rebranded herself, unveiling her new stage name and marking a new chapter in her career. She was credited as the featured vocalist and co-writer on the pop hit “Sexual” by Swedish producer NEIKED, which significantly elevated her profile. Dyo’s songwriting prowess was recognized when she received a nomination for Best Contemporary Song at the 62nd Ivor Novello Awards in 2017. Her collaboration with Fifth Harmony on the track “Lonely Night” further solidified her status as a sought-after songwriter in the industry.
Dyo’s collaborations continued to flourish, particularly with Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold on the track “Down With You,” which contributed to her growing popularity in Nigeria. In 2019, Dyo began releasing music under her new name, starting with her single “Arena” and the collaboration “Go All The Way” featuring Mr Eazi.
