Gin Wigmore is a celebrated New Zealand singer and songwriter whose career has been marked by a series of impressive achievements and contributions to the music industry. She first gained recognition in 2004 when her sister entered her heartfelt song “Hallelujah” into the International Songwriting Competition, where she triumphed over 11,000 competitors, becoming the youngest and only unsigned Grand Prize winner. This early success set the stage for her future endeavors, showcasing her exceptional songwriting talent.

In 2008, Wigmore released her debut EP, “Extended Play,” which featured the hit single “Under My Skin.” The EP achieved Platinum status in New Zealand, selling over 15,000 copies and solidifying her presence in the music scene. Following this, her debut full-length album, “Holy Smoke,” released in 2009, debuted at number one on the New Zealand Albums Chart, with the single “Oh My” reaching the top four. This album established her as a prominent artist in New Zealand and beyond.

Wigmore continued to evolve her sound with subsequent albums, including “Gravel & Wine” and “Blood to Bone,” both of which topped the New Zealand charts. Her music has been featured in popular television shows and commercials, further expanding her reach and influence. Notably, her single “Black Sheep” gained international recognition, appearing in multiple TV series and advertisements.

Her fourth studio album, “Ivory,” released in 2018, showcased her versatility and artistic growth, with songs inspired by her personal experiences. Throughout her career, Wigmore has not only captivated audiences with her high-pitched, raspy voice but has also made significant contributions to the music industry, establishing herself as a dynamic and influential artist.
