Housewife, the innovative musical project led by Brighid Fry, has made significant strides in the Canadian indie rock scene since its inception. Originally known as Moscow Apartment, the project rebranded in 2022, allowing Fry to explore her artistic vision more freely. The debut self-titled EP, released in 2017, showcased Fry’s remarkable songwriting and musical talent, earning accolades from critics and establishing her as a rising star in the industry. The EP’s production by Samantha Martin and contributions from notable musicians highlighted Fry’s commitment to quality and creativity.

In 2020, Housewife released the sophomore EP “Better Daughter,” which further solidified Fry’s reputation as a formidable artist. The EP was produced in collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Vance Powell and featured contributions from industry luminaries like Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene. The project received widespread acclaim, with CBC naming it one of the “22 Albums You Need to Hear” in 2020, showcasing Fry’s ability to resonate with audiences and critics alike.

Beyond her musical achievements, Fry is also a passionate advocate for environmental issues, actively supporting the organization Music Declares Emergency. This commitment to activism reflects her desire to use her platform for positive change, further enhancing her profile as an artist who cares deeply about the world around her.

With numerous awards under her belt, including recognition from the Canadian Songwriting Competition and the Toronto Independent Music Awards, Housewife continues to push boundaries in the music industry. As a solo project, Fry’s journey is just beginning, and her future endeavors promise to captivate and inspire audiences worldwide.
