Young Fathers, an innovative alternative trio from Edinburgh, Scotland, have made significant strides in the music industry since their formation in 2008. They first gained attention with their mixtapes, particularly *Tape Two*, which won the prestigious Scottish Album of the Year Award in 2013. This early recognition set the stage for their unique blend of genres, including hip hop, soul, and art pop, establishing them as a formidable force in contemporary music.

In 2014, Young Fathers released their debut album, *Dead*, which not only earned them the Mercury Prize but also charted at number thirty-five on the UK Albums Chart. The album’s success was a testament to their innovative sound and lyrical depth, resonating with audiences and critics alike. Following this, they embarked on an extensive world tour, further solidifying their reputation as a dynamic live act.

Their subsequent albums, *White Men Are Black Men Too* (2015) and *Cocoa Sugar* (2018), continued to showcase their artistic evolution. *Cocoa Sugar* peaked at number 28 on the UK Albums Chart and won them their second Scottish Album of the Year Award, highlighting their consistent ability to push creative boundaries while maintaining commercial appeal.

Most recently, their fourth album, *Heavy Heavy*, released in 2023, peaked at number 7 on the UK Albums Chart and garnered them their third Scottish Album of the Year Award.
