Bernie Shine is a magician and performer who has been a prolific entertainer since he first appeared on the scene in the 1970’s.
Shine was a law student when he first started performing regularly at the Close Up Room at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. The young magician was taken under the wing of some of the more experienced performers, including legends such as Dai Vernon, Francis Carlyle and Senator Clark Crandall. Shine started to make a name for himself, being invited to perform at bigger and bigger venues but always maintaining his professionalism and integrity, and preferring to perform at more intimate and personal events. His fame continued to grow, with Shine becoming known as a master of magic and delighting audiences across the globe with his mixture of conjuring, card tricks and close up illusions. In 2013 he performed one of his most famous tricks at the UnCabaret in Los Angeles, borrowing three rings from members of the audience before linking them together in the ultimate finale trick. The rings were safely unlinked before their owners left at the end of the show. 2017 saw Shine perform throughout the summer at the The Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills, and he has even appeared in the music video for The Pixies 2019 single On Graveyard Hill.
This iconic performer continues to amaze and inspire audiences and regularly appears on podcasts and shows to talk about his life and career.
