Brian Propp is a celebrated former professional ice hockey left winger who made a significant impact in the National Hockey League (NHL) over a remarkable 15-season career from 1979 to 1994. He began his journey with the Melville Millionaires in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, where he shattered scoring records with an impressive 168 points in just 57 games. His exceptional talent led him to the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, where he clinched two league scoring titles before being drafted 14th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 1979.
Propp made an immediate impact in the NHL, debuting with the Flyers and quickly establishing himself as a top player. He set a rookie scoring record for left wingers with 75 points in his first season and led all rookie left wingers in the playoffs. His career highlights include being a five-time NHL All-Star and finishing as a runner-up to Wayne Gretzky in playoff scoring during the 1987 postseason. Propp’s contributions were pivotal in leading the Flyers to three Stanley Cup Finals and winning the 1987 Canada Cup with Team Canada.
