Founded by Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman, AKA “DABU”, CHOIR!CHOIR!CHOIR! is a choir like no other, welcoming anyone to attend as part of their events.
First established by DABU in 2011, the unique CHOIR!CHOIR!CHOIR! based in Toronto, Canada began as a weekly drop-in singing event, inviting all to attend. Unlike traditional choirs, CHOIR!CHOIR!CHOIR! is renowned as an open participation group, that aims provide locals with an opportunity to sing, enjoy some comedy and form long-lasting relationships as part of their community. How it works is, attendees get their lyric sheets on arrival and DABU spend the evening teaching everyone the vocal arrangements. The night ends with a fun-filled, video-recorded performance. After attracting worldwide attention with their rendition of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity”, shortly after his passing, CHOIR!CHOIR!CHOIR! has gone on to enjoy immense success having performed at renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, The National Arts Centre and Parliament Hill in Ottawa. They have also enjoyed performing at events such as TEDx Toronto and the Luminato Festival, amongst others. Since their rise to international fame CHOIR!CHOIR!CHOIR! has gone on to perform alongside superstars Kathleen Edwards, Chris Murphy and the legendary Patti Smith.
No longer just a Toronto based choir, DABU now tours CHOIR!CHOIR!CHOIR! around the world, hosting their ever-popular open participation events for everyone to enjoy. Having performed at numerous fundraising events, including the memorial vigil following the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting, the choir launched their CHOIR!CHOIR!CHOIR! Foundation. They have since gone on to raise thousands of dollars for charities including $70,000 as part of their Sings for Syria campaign and a further $50,000 as part of their 25 days of Charity! Charity! Charity! event, raising funds for a selection of 25 organisations.
