Board-certified medical and cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Caroline Robinson is an expert in ethnic skin dermatology, alopecia and preventative skincare. An advocate for diversity in the beauty industry and dermatology, she works tirelessly to bring about equity and inclusivity in healthcare and skincare. Robinson’s dedication led her to set up her own practice, Tone Dermatology, which is a patient-oriented, innovative aesthetic and medical office reimagining dermatologic care for the future. Her ability to educate on skin and hair health topics and expertise has meant she has become a sought-after industry advisor, and she has featured frequently across the media in the likes of Refinery29, Women’s Health, NY Magazine’s The Strategist, Essence, New York Times, CRWN magazine, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Well + Good, Self, and Allure, to name just a few. She was a panelist at the 25th annual Essence Festival in 2019 speaking about the importance of sun protection for darker skin types.
A graduate of Cornell University, Robinson earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville before completely her residency at Southern Illinois University. She has served as Director for Diversity Initiatives and as clinical faculty with Northwestern University, and is involved in many industry organizations including American Academy of Dermatology and the Skin of Color Society. Robinson has won many accolades and awards for her pioneering work, including the National Minority Quality Forum 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health award.
