Australian actor Hugh Sheridan is best known for his performance as Ben Rafter in Seven Network’s long-running family sitcom Packed to the Rafters.
Adelaide-born Sheridan began training as an actor at a young age, performing and studying with Unley Youth Theatre and Terry Simpson Studios. A multi-faceted performer, Sheridan studied Music and Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts and The Australian Ballet School respectively. Finding success at a young age, Sheridan sang with The State Opera of South Australia; he was later accepted into the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art. Prior to his television success, Sheridan performed with the Sydney Theatre Company in a production of The Lost Echo.
In 2008 Sheridan hit his big break when he was cast in his debut on-screen role as Ben Rafter in Packed to the Rafters. Sheridan appeared in over 100 episodes of the hit show over its five-year run and found his role to be much celebrated. The young star received seven Logie Award nominations, including four wins for Most Popular New Male Talent and Most Popular Actor. Much to the delight of his fans, it was announced in early 2020 that Sheridan and his co-stars would soon be returning in Amazon Prime Video’s Back to the Rafters.
Sheridan’s additional roles include Garry Gary Beers in INXS: Never Tear Us Apart, Toby in The Divorce, Nick in House Husbands, Robert in Boar, Nigel in The Flip Side, Josh in Escape and Evasion, Cute Guy in Isn’t It Romantic, Mike in Dark Place and Lachlan Best in Five Bedrooms. In the years since finding fame, Sheridan has continued to sing, releasing his debut album Speak Love with Sony Music Australia and forming the critically acclaimed band The California Crooners Club.
