Belarusian tennis ace Ilya Ivashka has been steadily working his way up the ATP world rankings since 2016. In 2021, helped by a fourth-round appearance at Wimbledon, third-round appearance in the US Open, and victory in the Winston-Salem Open, he broke into the Top 50 for the first time. He currently has 10 ATP Challenger and ITF Futures titles across singles and doubles competitions and represented his country at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
After turning pro in 2013, Ivashka made his Grand Slam debut three years later, reaching the first round of the US Open, which took him into the ATP Top 200 for the first time. After a lean 2017, he bounced back in 2018 with a first-round appearance at the US Open and a third-round one at the Canadian Masters. These, along with victory at the Pingshan Open in China on the ATP Challenger Tour, launched him into the Top 100. The following year saw him reach the second round of the Australian Open for the first time, having previously left during the first qualifying round.
2020 was an understandably disrupted year, but even then, he still managed to win two ATP Challenger titles and got himself warmed up for what was to be his biggest year yet. During 2021, he won his first ATP Tour title, reached the third round of the US Open and the fourth of Wimbledon, being knocked out just shy of his first Grand Slam quarter-final by eventual runner-up Matteo Berrettini. However, it was all enough to propel him into the ATP Top 50.
