The delectable wine and food professional Joanna Simon is a wine writer, wine expert, presenter, author, and host. She is also the founding editor of Waitrose & Partners Drinks Magazine, and tastes and writes for The World of Fine Wine magazine.
Simon has been sniffing, sipping, spitting, eating and drinking for a living since the 1980s, when she started working for The Sunday Times. She wrote a weekly wine column and recommendations, was one of their team of cookery writers, and contributed periodically to their Magazine, Books, Travel and News sections. She also wrote The Sunday Times Book of Wine. After 22-years at the paper she left and co-founded The Wine Gang, an online monthly wine review and wine events organiser. She was wine and food editor of House & Garden for six years, and in 2017 she became the founding editor of Waitrose & Partners Drinks Magazine. She contributes to Platinum, Decanter, The Daily Mail, and has presented shows on BBC Radio 4. In addition, she does a fair bit of competition judging, too.
