Jo Wheatley is a food author and television baker who shot to celebrity after taking first place in The Great British Bake Off’s second season. Since winning, she opened a cooking school out of her Essex home that was recognised as one of the Top Five UK Baking Schools by The Guardian. She came in second place in a poll of Radio Times readers’ top Great British Bake Off contestants of all time in August 2015.
Wheatley also maintains a popular blog called “Jo’s Blue AGA,” which has over 125,000 visitors each month. She also engages regularly with her dedicated fan audience of 27K+ Twitter, 43K+ Facebook, 21K+ Instagram, and over 5M+ views on her Google+ page. She has been on television in guest chef roles on This Morning, The Alan Titchmarsh Show (ITV), Holiday Kitchen, What’s Cooking?, and Jay Rayner’s mini-lesson on the art of baking scones for The One Show (BBC1).
Wheatley routinely receives requests to host the Interview Stage and present her recipes at live food events all around the UK. She frequently performs as a featured baker at events including The Cake and Bake Show, Ideal Home Show, and other local culinary festivals. She has participated in fundraising efforts for the Rainbow Trust, Children in Need, and the Lullaby Trust. She has featured in campaigns and events for Stork, Neff, NCL, Dr Oetker, NPower, Mattel, and Philadelphia.
