Kasper Schmeichel is a certified Leicester City legend. The world beating Danish goalkeeper has won the FA Cup, English Premier League, Community Shield and Football League Championship with his beloved Leicester. Individually, Schmeichel has won a ton of awards, ranging from Danish Player of the Year on multiple occasions, to being named in the Football League Team of the Decade.
The Danish superstar began his career with Manchester City, where he spent a number of years on loan. Schmeichel went on to play for Notts County and Leeds United, and potentially was heading for a career in the lower leagues. However, everything changed when Schmeichel moved to Leicester City in 2011. The commanding figure has gone on to become one of the best goalkeepers to ever grace the Premier League. He has already played over 400 competitive games for Leicester, winning the Championship in the 2013–14 season, the Premier League in 2015–16 and the FA Cup in 2020–21. His collection of major trophies shows that goalkeeping greatness runs in his family, with his dad – Peter Schmeichel, being a keeping legend for Manchester United. Due to his success at Leicester, Schmeichel went on to start for his country at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2020.
Although in the twilight of his career, Schmeichel is still at the top of his game as Leicester continue to challenge at the top of the footballing pyramid.
