She gained national fame after winning the first teen edition of “Pinoy Big Brother.” With her films grossing over ₱1.36 billion at the box office, Chiu is one of the highest-grossing box office stars in Philippine cinema. Forbes Asia recognized her influence by naming her one of Asia Pacific’s most influential Filipino personalities in 2020.
Dubbed the “Multimedia Idol” by various media outlets, Chiu began her career with supporting roles in television. Her breakthrough came with her on-screen pairing with Gerald Anderson, leading to notable projects such as “Sana Maulit Muli” (2007), “I’ve Fallen For You” (2007), and “Tayong Dalawa” (2009).
