Kurt Busch is an American auto racing star, and legendary driver in the NASCAR Cup series. Has been competing in the Cup for 21 years, and he currently competes in the Chip Ganassi Racing team (it is his second year with them, and ranks 10th in the competition.
Busch was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. He started kart racing from a young age, and his interest quickly developed into a professional career. He first competed as a rookie for the Star Racing team, winning the series championship in 1999. He started competing in Nascar in 2000 for the Roush Racing Team, and came second overall in 2000. He has competed in a variety of teams such as Penske Racing, Phoenix Racing and Furniture Row Racing.
He is known as one of the sport’s most prolific and decorated drivers, having achieved accomplishments such as 31 NASCAR victories, and a win in every series he has been part of. He has appeared in other Championships such as the Rolex 24 At Daytona in 2005 and 2008 and the Indianapolis 500 in 2014. He was also the recipient of the Indianapolis Rookie of the Year award. Aside from racing, he is a keen philanthropist, and has partnered with the charity Vet Tix, which aims to give out tickets for retired military. He is passionate about honouring their service to the country.
