Kyle Langford is a star British athlete; he regularly excels in middle-distance running, competing mainly in the 800m. With several titles to his name, he came first place in the European Junior Championships in Eskilstuna, Sweden, with a time of 1.48.99. His performances of have secured his position as one of the most exciting new talents in running, and earning several medals.
Haling from Watford, UK, Langford got into athletics as a teenager. He began training at the age of 15, after he won a 200m race at school. His performance attracted the attention of his local club, the Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers. After dedicating himself to athletics, Langford began to amass many successes as a young athlete. In his debut performance representing the UK in Donetsk, Ukraine, he came third place at the World Youth Championships in 2013. He made a time of 1.48.32. He came second in the Commonwealth Games in Australia, making the superb time of 1.45.16 and earning a silver medal.
He continues to consistently push himself to achieve more; he achieved a new outdoor personal best in 2020 in Monaco – 1.44.83. He has broken several records, such as the first Briton to win the European U20 since the celebrated Curtis Robb in 1991. He has harboured Olympic dreams for a while, and is training to master the 800m in this legendary arena.
