Mathieu Brunelle gained a massive reputation during the latter half of the 2010s as a highly respected anime blogger and creator. His channel, Misty Chronexia, accumulated more than 3 million subscribers thanks to its informed and reliable reviews and recommendations for the best anime to watch. His content has been viewed more than 312 million times with his ‘Top 10’ and ‘Top 15’ lists gathering millions of views apiece. He hasn’t vlogged since July 2021, but he remains active on Twitter where he has nearly 109,000 followers.
Brunelle, who is French-Canadian and speaks (very good) English as his second language for all of his content, first began posting YouTube content in 2008, focusing on video-game walkthroughs. He set up his Mistry Chronexia channel in 2014, and it quickly became a huge success thanks to his relatable manner and thoroughly reliable recommendations. He even raised enough money through his Patreon account to make his own anime, Chronexia and the Eight Seals. Sadly, however, issues with YouTube’s copyright policy during 2020 meant that he ultimately had to set up a second channel, Chronexia Infinity, from which he continued to post content.
Today, Brunelle is very much a family man, sharing updates on his life with his wife and young daughter through his Twitter account. However, all of his vlogs and creations remain on YouTube for anime fans new and seasoned to enjoy.
