Nia Reed is an exceptionally talented American professional volleyball player who represents her nation as part of the United States women’s national volleyball team. She currently plays for the prestigious South Korean club Gwangju Al Peppers, who are members of the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO).
From humble beginnings in her hometown of Fort Lee, New Jersey, Reed displayed athletic prowess at a very young age. She became a four-year starter at high school, leading them to four consecutive non-public state championships. While at Penn State university, she played under iconic women’s volleyball coach Russ Rose, and won the 2014 NCAA national championship. In her final season in 2018, she was named an AVCA honorable mention All-American.
Reed has travelled widely throughout her career, with stints in Turkey, France and Brazil. Her most successful run to date was with Brazilian team Sesi Vôlei Bauru, with whom she won the 2020-2021 Brazilian Cup and bronze medals in the 2012-2022 South American Club Championship, Brazilian Superliga and Paulista Championship. She also secured a bronze medal at the indoor volleyball Pan-American Cup in 2022, held in Hermosillo, Mexico.
