Patrick James Light is a distinguished former professional baseball pitcher who made significant contributions to Major League Baseball (MLB) during his tenure with the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins. Light’s journey began in high school, where he achieved an impressive 20–0 record with a 1.52 earned run average at Christian Brothers Academy in New Jersey, setting a remarkable standard in Shore Conference history. His early success caught the attention of scouts, leading to his selection by the Minnesota Twins in the 28th round of the 2009 draft, although he opted to further his education at Monmouth University.
At Monmouth, Light showcased his talent, compiling a 14–14 record with a 3.84 ERA and striking out 196 batters over 39 appearances from 2010 to 2012. His performance earned him a spot on Baseball America’s preseason Top 100 list of 2012 draft prospects.
