Richie Schley is an extreme sports champion, having been crowned Canadian BMX Champion in the professional class, as well as being a professional free-skier featured in MSP Films and Warren Miller Films and a prestigious pioneer of free riding mountain biking and mountain slope-style. Schley managed to spawn a whole career movement in freeride mountain biking, and it was his charisma and determination that kept him at the top of his game, having won countless awards of extremely high level.
Schley has recently opened up about his experience mountain biking on a short film documentary filmed by director Bhushan Thakkar, who has directed the likes of Glass on Amazon Prime and was a second unit director on the award winning romantic comedy When Harry Tries To Marry. Schley explored his career, it’s connections to nature, and taking the time to reflect on his deeper understanding of the “planet we call home” after lockdown restrictions were put in place for the Covid-19 pandemic. The film has been commended as deeply moving, introspective and engaging, with Schley being the executive producer for the project. Schley also enjoys posting photography of his biking experiences, which he shares on his instagram to over 57 thousand followers, and considers himself a celebration enthusiastic. Schley has recently been inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, a tremendous achievement for the sportsman.
