Rob Pannell, born December 11, 1989, is a professional lacrosse player who plays for Atlas Lacrosse Club and formerly for the New York Lizards and Cornell University. He is a seven-time Major League Lacrosse All-Star, a four-year team captain, and recipient of the 2018 MLL Offensive Player of the Year and the Major League Lacrosse MVP title.
Pannell’s athletic success skyrocketed during his time at Cornell, where he graduated with the Tewaaraton Award in 2013. He also received the Raymond Enners Award in 2013 and 2011. He was a three-time Ivy League Player of the Year and First Team All-American in 2013, ‘11, and ‘10. He was also a first Team All-Ivy recipient in 2013, ’11, ’10, and ’09. He took home an ESPY Nomination for Best Male Collegiate Athlete in 2011. Pannell won the Jack Turnbull award in 2011 and 2010 as well as the Ivy League Rookie of the year in 2009. He holds the Ivy League record for points, with 354.
Pannell continued on to play Lacrosse professionally, for the New York Lizards, where he was the #1 MLL draft pick in 2012 and the 2013 MLL Rookie of the Year. Pannell earned three MLL All-Pro titles, three Scoring Titles, one MLL Championship win, two Assist League Leader Titles, as well as two awards for Offensive Player of the Year. He was also selected to represent Team USA in the Federation of International (FIL) Lacrosse World Championships in 2014 and in 2018. In 2020, Pannell announced that he would join the Premier Lacrosse League where he currently plays for Atlas.
