The brilliant sportsman Rory “The Mimico Mauler” Smith is a professional lacrosse player, who turns out in defence for the Vancouver Stealth of the National Lacrosse League, and for the Victoria Shamrocks of the Western Lacrosse Association.
Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, Smith grew up playing junior ice hockey and junior lacrosse. He made his senior lacrosse debut in 2009 for the New Westminster Salmonbellies of the Western Lacrosse Association. He attended York University, and after graduating began his NLL career when he was selected by the New York Titans in the 2007 NLL Entry draft.
Smith remained with the Titans when their franchise moved to Orlando, and after the team was dissolved a year later, he joined the Minnesota Swarm in 2010. He was then traded to the Colorado Mammoth. He remained with the Swarm until 2013 and was then traded to the Buffalo Bandits. He was traded again after a season and went to play with the Vancouver Stealth.
