One of the most energetic personalities of AFL football, Sam Kekovich is a popular Australian media figure and sports commentator. He headed a well-known advertising campaign for Meat and Livestock Australia from 2005 to 2014.
Coming from a decorated family of Australian footballers, Kekovich began his career in 1968 with North Melbourne Football Club. He appeared in the VFL Grand Final in 1975 before finishing his VFL career with Collingwood in 1977. He then spent time as both a player and a coach in the Victorian Football Association. Carrying his flamboyant and outspoken style into the media world, he is now known for his rants on ABC, ESPN, Triple M, and several other television and radio programs. He’s a regular panelist on Channel 9’s Sunday Footy Show and released You Know It Makes Sense in 2002, a spoken word album nominated for best comedy album at the 2002 ARIAs. Kekovich also spent time as CEO of K Rock Radio in Geelong and executive producer of the film Blinder. He is known across the country for his involvement with Meat and Livestock Australia, having appeared in many ads encouraging Australians to eat more lamb.
