Samantha Ruddy is a comedian and actress from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Ruddy’s passion for comedy began from a young age and her current position in the industry proves her dedication to her craft. Improv is what first captured her interest at age 14 and from there she got into sketch comedy. In college, she discovered her love for stand-up comedy, and this served as the base for her career. Ruddy dedicated herself to this newfound passion and soon became a contributing writer for College Humor and Redcutress. From there, she had the opportunity of appearing on numerous skits for Comedy Central.
Ruddy’s commitment to her career and initial experience helped to develop her presence in the entertainment industry. At the young age of 24, Ruddy found herself headlining one of the most prestigious comedy clubs in New York known as Carolines on Broadway. Her big debut proved to be vital to her career as she was named one of the 50 Funniest People in Brooklyn by Brooklyn Magazine. She has performed at exclusive festivals across the United States, such as New York Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, and Bridgetown Comedy Festival. Ruddy currently hosts the show Too Many Cooks in New York every Wednesday night. Her most recent accomplishment was her huge TV debut on the CBS show The Late Show with Stephen Colbert which helped place her in the spotlight.
