Tarjei Bø is a Norwegian professional biathlete who made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup in March 2009 in Russia, and won his first World Cup victory the following year in December 2010, making his mark in Biathlon.
Bø‘s early career got off to a flying start and in 2006 at his first Junior World Championships in the US, he nabbed a gold medal in the individual discipline, and silver in the pursuit discipline. The following year later in Italy, Bø claimed another silver medal in the pursuit discipline.
After an Olympic Champion title in the 2009/2010 season, the 2010/2011 season followed suit in terms of success for Bø. In the 2010 Winter Olympics, Bø competed in the 4 × 7.5 km biathlon relay, earning his first gold medal. Following his highly successful races in Hochfilzen, Bø became the 2010/11 Overall World Cup leader.
This season quickly proved to be his best yet, and in March, Bø won his first World Championship title as part of the Norwegian mixed team; the first time Norway won this event. Two days later, Bø came in third in the sprint discipline, winning the Overall Sprint Cup. He saw further success winning his first individual gold medal and Bø claimed his second title in the relay; becoming the most successful biathlete at the World Championships with a total of five medals.
At the season finals he and his team won the Overall Pursuit Cup, and beat the runner up in the Overall Cup by five points, taking this victory for the first time in his career.
