Tiffany Bias is an American professional basketballer who won the WNBA championship title with the Phoenix Mercury in 2014 after building a record 29-5 win record. She also played for the Hungarian team Diosgyori VTK for two years, winning the Hungarian Cup with them. She played for the Thailand team at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and helped them to win silver. Away from playing, she has also worked as a sideline reporter for the Dallas Mavericks and worked as a model and fashion designer.
Bias was born in Wichita, Kansas. Her mother’s family is from Thailand, and Bias would eventually take Thai citizenship, allowing her to represent the country in international basketball. Her promise in the sport first came to prominence in high school where she captained the team for three years, led them to two unbeaten season records and set the state scoring record. She then played for Oklahoma State University for four years, making over 130 appearances and winning three consecutive All-Big 12 honours. During her senior year, she played more minutes than anyone else in the conference, was selected to the All-Big 12 Defensive Team and helped her team to only their final-sixteen.
Bias was selected by the Phoenix Mercury in the second round of the 2014 WNBA Draft and although she initially struggled to win a place on the team, she soon hit her stride and resumed her winning ways. She then moved to Hungary for two years and even had a spell playing in the Israeli off-season before returning to America, signing for the New York Liberty in spring 2019.
