Wang Han is a Chinese diver who specializes in the 1m springboard event. As an Olympic level athlete Han has a vast experience in participating in and winning competitive events. In the 2011 World Aquatic Championships, Wang won a silver medal for the 1m springboard event behind Shi Tingmao of China. This medal would serve as a proper foreshadow for what would be Han’s most memorable sporting achievement.
In the 2015 World Championships in Kazan Russia, Han won a gold medal alongside partner Yang Hao in the mixed 3m synchronized springboard event. The level of excellence that is necessary to attain such a medal comes as no surprise to Han. From a young age Han was always athletically inclined. Being a child full of energy, Han first engaged in gymnastics before then making the switch to diving at age 10 after being selected by the coaches of the provincial diving team. After taking only 10 days to learn swimming, the rest was history.
For her many achievements as a world class athlete and overall notoriety as a good sport, Han received one of the Top Ten Athlete awards at the 2017 Hebei Sports “Double Top Ten” Sports Personality Awards in the People’s Republic of China. Like her idol Guo Jingjing, Han’s current ambition is to win gold at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
