Wesley Hamilton is an incredibly inspiring individual with more to offer than most. A philanthropist, speaker, athlete, and model, Wesley is a true inspiration to all. After a tragic incident left him paralysed and struggling with health and fitness, Wesley – against all the odds, decided to create his own philanthropic organisation, Disabled But Not Really (DBNR), which aims to empower others like him, and bring positivity and hope to the disabled community.
Within this community, DBNR has been able to offer individuals a scholarship program to support them in improving their nutrition and fitness. The community also supports the homeless population, by providing dignity care packages, water, and food. Wesley has even appeared on the hit Netflix show, Queer Eye, where his personality shined through and he was able to discuss what it means to be disabled in today’s society. Since the show, Wesley has been involved in many media engagements including; CNN, ABC News, BBC, CNN, The Today Show, and many, many more – thus expanding the DBNR community across America.
Feeling happier and healthier then ever, Wesley now has some incredible achievements to his name for his philanthropic work, however amongst these awards are some remarkable sporting achievements too – including first place at the NPC wheelchair nationals 2017 and placing second at the Wod 4 Wheels Adaptive Crossfit Competition in 2017. Wesley is showing no signs of slowing down and continues to develop his organisation along with taking care of his daughter, Nevaeh.
